Lakeview Mural

Along with a group of local artists, I recently helped paint a large mural in Oakland. My section of the mural -- which I designed, drew, transferred, outlined, and painted -- is about 11 feet by 33 feet, or 363 square feet. The mural as a whole includes landmarks, animals and people around the world; my section of the mural represents China and Japan.

The Lakeview Mural is below the Lakeview school in Oakland, beside the 580 on-ramp/off-ramp, at the corner of Lakeshore and Grand Avenue. It's a lovely area where generous sponsors allowed us credit at local restaurants every day.

The Great Wall wasn't easy to fit in a vertical format.

The pandas are by far the most popular part of my section.

This scene is based on the style and subject matter of Japanese prints.

The world's major religions are all represented in the mural.
